Save Our Homes Cap is 3%

The assessed value of property benefiting from the homestead exemption will increase by 3% for 2012 as required by Section 193.155, Florida Statutes, referred to in a recently released Florida Department of Revenue memorandum. In no case, however, will the Assessed value exceed the Just (Market) value.

Deadline nears for Homestead exemption filing

January 24, 2012

The March 1st application deadline for 2012 homestead exemption is fast approaching. If you purchased and occupied a home prior to January 1, 2012 you may be eligible for a homestead exemption. Please review the additional qualifications required to apply on our Homestead page.

We offer online filing for single homeowners and married homeowners filing together. At this time, all other applicants must apply in person. We encourage you to apply early to avoid the potentially long lines as we get closer to the March 1st deadline.
